McBath and McClellan to Deliver Commencement Address at Virginia State University

Congresswoman Lucy McBath and Senator Jennifer McClellan will be the 2019 Spring commencement speakers at Virginia State University.

McBath and McClellan will address graduates on Sunday, May 19 in the VSU Multipurpose Center. McClellan will deliver the commencement address at the 9 a.m. ceremony and  McBath will deliver the commencement address at the 2 p.m. ceremony.  

McBath graduated from VSU in 1982 with a degree in political science. After working for three decades as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, she was pushed into activism after her 17-year-old son Jordan Davis was shot and killed.

McClellan was elected to the Senate of Virginia in January 2017 and currently serves on the Agriculture, Conservation & Natural Resources, Local Government, and Transportation Committees.
